MediVerba — Certified Medical Translation Services

The certified medical translation team behind your mission

Our story

MediVerba didn't start with a business plan, it started with clients asking for more. As projects grew in scope and complexity, what began as our founder's individual translation practice naturally evolved into a curated team of certified linguists with backgrounds in clinical research, medical insurance, and healthcare.

We are not a large agency where your project disappears into a queue. When you work with MediVerba, you work directly with Paula and a handpicked team of specialists selected for your project's subject matter and regulatory requirements. That direct line to the founder —from kickoff to final delivery— is what allows us to maintain the quality, consistency, and responsiveness that our clients rely on.

We specialize in both U.S. Spanish and LATAM Spanish, serving health plan members and clinical trial sites in the United States and across Latin America.

María Paula Plazas, founder of MediVerba and ATA-certified English-Spanish medical translator

María Paula Plazas

Former Administrator of ATA's Medical Division

MediVerba was founded by María Paula Plazas, an ATA-certified English-to-Spanish translator and qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI).

Paula served as Administrator of the American Translators Association's Medical Division, a leadership role that placed her at the center of the medical translation profession in the United States. In this capacity, she contributed to advancing professional standards, fostering knowledge exchange among medical translators, and shaping the conversations that define best practices in the field. Her tenure with the ATA Medical Division reflects a deep commitment not only to practicing medical translation at the highest level, but to elevating the profession as a whole.

MediVerba was born out of demand. As Paula's reputation in medical translation grew, clients increasingly brought her projects that required not just a single translator, but coordinated teams. Leading and managing those teams became a natural extension of her work, and MediVerba became the vehicle to do it with the structure, quality standards, and accountability that her clients expected.

Precise, reliable, and culturally appropriate language services that support better health outcomes, smoother clinical research, and equitable access to healthcare information for Spanish-speaking populations.
